Here's how it is. I am not a huge Michael Jackson fan. Even now. After his death. I don't feel the urge to run out and buy his CD's or go to iTunes and download them. I even think some of the bad jokes are funny. Today however, I experienced something I never expected. I was working at the hospital today, covering for another person and stopped into the building to eat lunch. While there I found something out. This is what happened.
1. A nurse was so distraught over MJ's death and the memorial service she had to go home sick. Now. really. Is that necessary? Going home over a singer's death??? I thought about going home when I found out Ed McMahon died, but I held it together. Like she was any closer to him than I was to Ed???
2. Another nurse wore the following outfit...Black MJ t-shirt (with her nursing scrubs), a MJ hat, and wait...you are soooo not going to believe this...ONE GLOVE. Yes folks, that's right. She wore the sequined glove. Why? I do not know. And she's white. Not that color should have anything to do with it, but I can almost see why some of the black staff felt close--he did work on racial equality through his music. Nope. She was just that close to him.
3. All the tears. Lots and lots of them. It isn't like it was the president that died. It was Michael Jackson. A singer.
What the hell.
