Trevor had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday because he was running a fever, had a headache and a cough. Kevin and I thought that maybe, just this once, we would catch whatever it is he gets that turns into bronchitis or pneumonia before it actually happens. His Dr. said that it wasn't anything and to come back if he got worse. So, this morning, I was getting ready for work and was listening to Trevor cough. He said it felt like knives were stabbing him in the throat and the chest and was crying. So I had him blow into his "Peak Flow" meter to see how he was breathing because it sounded labored. Sure enough. We were in the red zone. I called his doctor and they said to take him to the ER to be checked out. Off we headed to Scary Perry. They can be such morons. The nurse said that his lungs sounded clear, but his oxygen was at 95% at rest. So, I asked about that because he was having trouble breathing. They left us for 40 minutes while we waited on the Dr. to get there. Apparently we weren't a priority! Anyway, the Dr. listened, and finally called Respiratory down. They did another Peak Flow there and he should easily be at 380. He was at 120. Then, they gave him a treatment and he went up to 200. The doctor came back and said he has bronchitis and some problems with his asthma. So, we got an antibiotic and prednisone. We had to get his prescription filled and had to wait, so I told him I would take him anywhere he wanted for breakfast. (He hasn't been eating very well) He picked IHOP and here is what he drank...
It's Beezlenut Splash (which in layman's terms is really Sprite with Red and Blue Jello in it. He had to slurp to get the Jello through the straw. I swear I saw people gagging around us!)
I thought it was gross, but he thought since you're supposed to drink Sprite and eat Jello while you're sick it was the perfect combo. I'm pretty sure this isn't what the doctor means when they say Sprite and Jello!!!
He also had "Who Cakes" from Horton Hears a Who. These were absolutely disgusting. Melted frosting covered the pancakes that were all different shapes and then there were chocolate candy coated pieces. Really nasty, but that's what he wanted!
He didn't eat very many, but you can probably tell why he didn't feel well afterwards! Oh well. He is still having trouble breathing, so I'm going to call his doctor to see what to do. More later!
