Talk about a wonderful surprise. I got flowers Saturday. And there were daisies. Oh happy day. Did I mention that Kevin is quitting smoking? Okay...I am really not that high maintenance wife that needs material things to make me happy, but shoot. After the mood he was in, I DESERVED them.(i might be exaggerating a bit--i'm sure my mood didn't help. but hey--who quits smoking and doesn't tell anyone??? i totally would have been nicer had i known--I can say that because i didn't know, and you can't turn back time!) Anyway, he has been smoke free since last Wednesday night! Now I have no excuse for buying scratch off lottery tickets. It used to be that I could justify them because he smoked. No excuse. Maybe I could say it is my new investment plan...some have 401K, some have the lottery. Just kidding. I am a gambling junkie. I even buy brands different than what i usually buy if there is a chance i could win something. By the way...not a good idea to do with toilet paper. I didn't win the $50,000 and it really stinks. Well not literally, but I used it to blow my nose (I know, totally cheap...should've used the Kleenex) and it felt like sandpaper. So if it feels that way on your nose, you can surely guess how it feels elsewhere :)
Not too much going on other than that. We are getting ready to go to Florida for the Daytona 500. Driving. I REALLY hope the nicotine is out of his system by then, or I might just be buying him a pack of cigarrettes.
Finished making rice krispie treats for the kids classes. Valentine's Day party tomorrow. Kevin is going to Leeandra's and I am hoping to go to Trev's. Depends on how the day goes at work (and I really don't like hanging out with those stay at home mom's who go on and on about how hard they have it. One even has a cleaning lady. Hey...we have it hard too. Can you imagine if I told Kevin that I wanted a cleaning lady if I weren't working outside our house? You all know his response on that one! They are so judgemental and have their own click and i end up being the outsider--you know the type, talking about how much they volunteer, and everything they do at the school. I would too if i didn't have to report to work! At least the kids like me, right?). He made his own Valentine's day box. It is orange and has dinosaur's all over it that he cut out. I really wanted to help him with the cutting to make it perfect, but refrained. I'm getting better about it. He is really proud. Originally he wanted me to make the shoebox into a car. I can be pretty creative, but i'm not that good! Leeandra signed all of her valentine's herself! She is getting really good at signing her name. Although, she did tell her teacher that she wanted to be called "Lee" because it "Takes too long to write Leeandra". Gotta love the rationale.
Oh, going Friday to start the process of changing Trevor's name to Sights. How goofy is it that we have to run an ad in the newspaper to notify everyone that we are changing it. They say it is in case he has any debt. How in the world could a 6 year old have bad debt??? It is going to take about 10 weeks. Wish us luck! He is already signing his name Trevor Sights at school. He told his teacher that he wanted to have his name listed as Sights in the school yearbook. It's pretty cute.
I'll try to post pics of the kids parties. Talk to everyone soon!
